Help us Fundraise
Surrey Search & Rescue team members are all volunteers, and as well as searching for missing vulnerable people we all get involved in fundraising. But we need help from you to do more.
If you want to help the team at one of our fundraising events, we’d love your help.
Outside Supermarkets, DIY warehouses, Pet centres, shopping centres, etc. You support us by holding a collection tin and talking to the public about the work that we do. Hi-Viz Jacket, ID card and training provided.
Time requirement: Approx 4 hours per month
Team Event support
At county shows, fairs and fetes you can support us by manning our stand and talking to the public about the work that we do. Hi-Viz Jacket, ID card and training provided.
Time requirement: Approx 6-8 hours per month, mainly Summer months.
At a time to suit you we help you create, arrange and manage your own events, such as bake-sales, bring and buy days, sponsored cycles or walks… We provide you with anything you may need to make this happen.
Time requirement: Approx 6 hours as a one off
PR – Message Spreaders
At a time to suit you we would ask you to distribute locally posters to help with fund-raising or recruitment. Placing posters in shops, community notice boards or newsletters we hope to raise awareness of our charity and the work we do in the community.
Time requirement: Approx 2-4 hours per month.
Dogsbody (Missing Persons)
We train weekly to keep our skills at their optimum. To do this we need a variety of people that we use for training to "hide". We will need to be fit and healthy due to the need to train in all weather. You would need to dress appropriately for the time of year as you could be stationary for up to an hour. A book or iPod is also recommended to pass the time. We would provide any other equipment.
Time Requirement: Approx 4 hours per month.
